Download Official IBM Drivers
|
In order to update your IBM devices with the latest and most compatible drivers for your operating system, we recommend using Driver Robot (Build 1.1.0.14). Driver Robot's database currently contains 1.5 million drivers and is constantly updated as new devices and compatibility issues arise. This is the quickest and most effective solution for updating IBM device drivers as shown by benchmarks and is highly recommended. |

How quickly were we setup with official IBM drivers?
To test how much more efficient Driver Robot was compared to if we had to do the whole process manually, we had an old IBM Thinkpad. This laptop is a good few years old and was optimized for Windows XP at the time. The first test involved us going straight to the manufacturer website to collect the list of IBM drivers that we needed based on the specific model that we had. This took a good 30 minutes to accomplish. The major problems that we encountered was finding all the drivers for the integrated devices on the laptop itself, such as volume control, hot keys, card reader etc... we even needed drivers to make the touchpad work properly! After we had downloaded all the necessary drivers we had to go through the entire list to sort and install them one by one. Some drivers had install shields, which made it pretty easy, but some did not. This meant that we had to go into device manager and detect each one individually. The whole process took a good 2 hours.
For our second test we used Driver Robot from start to finish. The same IBM Thinkpad was used and a fresh install of Windows Vista (although the laptop was optimized for XP). The first thing we did was click "scan for drivers". This took less than 2 min and found a total of 64 outdated or missing drivers! We then reviewed the drivers that Driver Robot recommended to us and went ahead with that. That process took another 10 - 15 min as there were a lot of drivers to download annd install. We then rebooted the laptop to complete the installation.
As expected, everything worked identically to if we just did the whole process manually, but the time difference was 1 hour and 45 min. Even Aeroglass worked on our 5 year old laptop. Keep in mind that the time that we saved is entirely dependent on a person's personal level of knowledge in computing and could differ between different experience levels. In conclusion, Driver Robot is a surprisingly robust and accurate piece of software that can cut hours out of configuring your computer - this is especially true if you do this for a living. Think of how much time and effort it will save you in the long run.
